Frame busting is used by a web application to prevent web pages being displayed in an iframe on another website. Frame busting or Frame busters are also known as a framekiller or a framebreaker. Frame busters are normally used to attempt to prevent external websites loading their webpage in an iframe without permission to prevent clickjacking. Unfortunately the use of a frame buster also precludes sites iframing content from other web sites when there is no commercial benefit.
To prevent Frame Busting or Frame Killing a small amount of code is needed on each page of the website. This is a game of cat and mouse as techniques are created to prevent Frame Busting or Frame Killing scripts have been created to beat the anti frame breaking scripts. Scripts have been written to beat the anti frame killing scripts and the cycle continues.
