How To Add Social Media Links To Your You Tube Channel – Video Transcribe Below

I don’t know if you have noticed recently, but there seems to be quite a number of YouTube Channels which have the twitter or social media links here.  And I have been wanting to put this on my channel for a while.  And I have tried on a couple of occasions to find out how to do it and I have not been successful.  But I have just figured it out now and it is quite easy when you know how to do it.

So I thought I would make this video to demonstrate how to do it.  So, to do this, and you don’t need to have the banner on the header to do this, so if you just have the regular plain header that comes with YouTube then you can still do this.  Now to do it, all you need to do, if you go up to the right hand side of the banner area at the top.  And click that button there, then what you get, is you get the option of these two here.  If you click edit links then you get this screen up.  Then what you do is, you enter your social media links in here, and you put a description on the left hand side, so you can label it whatever way you like.  That label here will actually appear up here.  And on the right hand side you put the URL to your profile for each of those links.

Whilst I am showing you this, if you are doing this for Skype, there is not a direct Skype URL for your profile that I am aware of.  So I have done it using my Skype.info which actually does work ok with this.  So, if you use that, then you will actually be able to get a Skype link on here as well.  So, if you want more, you just click add here, and you can actually add more social media sites as you need to there.  I don’t know if there is a limit on it.  One thing about it though, I think there is a limit to how many links you can actually have, because it actually says there, overlay first for is actually the limit there.  So, if I just go to there and click the drop down and see that four is the maximum.

Now the other thing that you can do is, if you select this option here, which will overlay first link, on channel art, so whatever you put on this top line here will appear here.  If you take that off, I suspect that will affect, yeh there you are that has taken that off as you can see.  If I go back into here and click there, you can see and go back into there, I can now reconnect that.  Click done, so now when you refresh the page, like that you will see as this page comes on, you will see it is running a little bit slow.  There you are, the links back there.  That is how you edit or add a social media link on to your page on YouTube.
